EnviroCo staff are heading to a large construction site in Nelson to conduct trials with a range of flocculants and coagulants.
The large hill top construction site has multiple sediment retention ponds (SRPs) which allow trials to be conducted simultaneously. Rather than relying on poly aluminum chloride (PAC) based coagulants, we are trialing several anionic poly acrylamide (PAM) products in both granular and liquid form.
The PAM products are being trialed both as a dirty construction water treatment and also as short term ground stabilization in dirty water diversion channels.
There is increasing interest in PAM flocculants internationally and EnviroCo is developing the knowledge and experience to utilize these products in New Zealand conditions.
A big thanks to the Schick Civil Construction team for allowing us to conduct these trials on one of their sites.
